Parents Club Meeting minutes
January 29, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited
and everyone one was welcomed. The minutes were read by the Secretary. The
treasurer was not available to report but President reported a balance of $9500.00.
School Update
Mrs. Moffitt was present to report.
*The Math Assembly was this week and was huge success. Parents Club will look
into paying $250.00 towards the cost.
*The teachers received their Carnival checks and wanted to expressed appreciation
to the Parents Club.
* The school purchased a mini basketball hoop for the Kindergarten classes from the
points earned from the Campbell’s soup labels.
*The second grade classes had a math night on 1/20/10 and was a huge success.
*The Walk-A-Thon will be tomorrow as well as Disney Spirit Day.
* The school had a gas leak but it has been fixed.
* Science Camp for the 6th grade students will be next week.
* Kimball High School Counselors are coming in February to talk with the 8th grade
students.
* NWEA Testing program needs parent volunteers. The testing is 3x/year for 3
weeks each time. Volunteers will need to go through some training. Mrs. Moffit
would like volunteers for May.
* Delta College came to talk with the students (6th,7th and 8th grade) and their
parents. Parents that were unable to attend should contact Miss. Insley.
* Traina Fitness Club is a new club that meets after school on Tuesday and
Thursday that is run by Mrs. Frisk and Mrs. Jenkins. Forty spots are available and
the students need parental permission to attend.
* GATE kids have two programs: Math Olympia and Chess Club and both programs
are run by parents.
* Due to funding this will be the last year for Kindergarten Bridge Camp.
* A Dance for the 7th and 8th graders will be on February 5th from 6-8 pm.
* The school is having some issues with vandalism. Parents are asked to contact
the police if anyone is seen on school property after hours.
* February 12th is “wear your college logo to work day”.
Committee Updates
Savemart- We should receive a check for $1638.00 for October, November and
December in February. The total made from Savemart to date with that check will be
$6471.00.
Raleys- Month to date-$36.84, Quarter to date-same, year to date-same. Total to
date is $108.64.
E-scrip- $715.37 was made last year.
Sunshine Committee will send new request for cards.

Follow-up
*Winter program was a huge success with a full house. TPC made $600.00 on
refreshments and $600.00 on baskets.
*Thunder Hockey Fundraiser was in January but attendance was poor. TPC may try
again later.
New Business
* Family Movie night has been rescheduled tentatively for February 19th.
* Talent Show sign-ups will go out next week and will be due in on February 16th.
February 18th will be the first rehearsal. The show is scheduled for March 19th.
TPC will ask Dandy Dogs to serve refreshments.
* Traina Around the World- A sign-up sheet will go out in February so that meetings
can begin in March.
* Backpack Fundraiser-Mr. Salazar will talk with Mrs. Moffitt about this so ordering
can start in March.
*Spaghetti Dinner for Band will be planned.
*Mrs. Moffitt would like a science and/or interactive assembly in early May.

December 11, 2009
The President called the meeting to order at 8:37 AM. Everyone was welcomed and
the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The minutes were read by the Secretary.
The treasurer reported that the current balance was $9,307.00. After the checks are
paid out to the grade levels, the balance will be around $6,000.00.
School Update
Mrs. Moffitt and Mr. Patzer were present to report.
*The Principal’s lunch will be this week.
*The Awards Assemblies were held this week. The ACE awards, Perfect Attendance,
Principal’s Honor Roll, Honor Roll, Accelerated Reader and the new Star testing
awards were given out.
*The sports events at Traina are on-going with 5,6,7, 8 grade level games.
* GATE Opportunities will begin in January. The GATE students will be participating
in Chess games.
*ASB- Lunchtime sports have been ongoing for 5th, 7th and 8th . The 6th grade will
be joining soon. A variety of sports are being played.
*The fundraiser called Pennies for Patients will be initiated by the Leadership
committee.
*The Christmas programs will be on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
* In January, the 8th graders will plan for High School.
* On January 27th, Delta College will come to talk with the 8th graders.
* In February, Kimball will send counselors to the school to get the 8th graders ready
for High School.
*The 6th graders will go to camp in the first week of February.
Committee Updates
Savemart- a check for $1,631.00 was received for last quarter. A total of $5,432.00
has been earned so far. This total includes up to October 2009, this does not include
November and December.
Raley’s cards were passed out last month and will be passed out at the Christmas
program. A total of $24.98 has been earned so far.
E-scrip program has earned $657.78 which is significantly higher than last year.
Sunshine Committee – no report
Box-tops/Campbell Soup labels- Mrs. Moody reported that a check for $371.30
should be received on December 15. 2009. January 8th is the deadline to turn in
Box-tops and Soup labels for the Pizza party.
Ink cartridges- A check for $25.00 was received.
Follow-up items
• Band night proceeds were $108.00 for Mr. Cooper’s music program.
• See’s candy sales made a profit of at least $550.00 but there are a few items left to
sell. The candy will come in on Wednesday December 16.
• Spirit wear zip-up sweatshirts were sold and 36 were ordered.
• Mrs. Murman and Mrs. Hernandez earned pizza parties for the most books
donated. Mr. Golden and Mrs. Givargas won the runner-up parties.
• Four baskets will be raffled at the Christmas program. Savemart and Raley’s
donated $25.00 gift cards. Vino100 will donate some bottles of wine. The winners of
the baskets must be present to win.
• A fund raiser with Stockton Thunder will be on January 16, 2010 at 7:00 PM. The
tickets will be $10.00 per ticket with $2.00 of the price going to TPC. The tickets will
need to be purchased directly from Stockton Thunder.
• TPC is considering having a family night in January which would be a movie night.
• A bingo night was suggested by a parent and this suggestion will be discussed.
Budget Items
Current and proposed budget was discussed. Highlights include:
a. Science Camp- 68 students are going. $25.00 per student will be donated next
year by TPC.
b E-scrip account will be used to fund the Multi-cultural Fair. $1,500.00 will be put
in the account at the end of the year. The plans for this event will begin in January.
c. TPC will check into backpack orders for next year and will be promoted in
February 2010. It will have the school logo and name. A discussion in regards to
placement of student’s name was a concern for safety reasons.
d. TPC will support the Math Assembly.

October 27,2009
The President called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.
Everyone was welcomed and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The minutes were read by the Secretary. The President proposed clarification from
the previous note. The President reported that all Parents Club events must
conclude at
8:15 PM. Also, the Parents Club ordered youth small shirts because there weren’t
any in stock.
Treasurer was not present to report. Current balance is $14,009.90. After
Spiritwear and Multicultural events checks are cleared then the balance would be
$11,607.04.
School Update:
Mrs. Moffitt was not present to report.
Committee Updates:
Savemart - Mrs. Bosch reported that a check for over $1600.00 should be coming
from Savemart soon for the months of July, August and September.
E-Scrip- Mr. Salazar reported that there was nothing to report.
Sunshine- Mrs. Givargas will be going on maternity leave soon and Miss Durand
was ill and is back to school part-time.

Follow-up
*A profit of $5,516.00 was netted from the Multi-Cultural Fair. $2,600.00 will be paid
out to the teachers and TPC will net $2,800.00.
*In January, the TPC will start to plan for the 2010 Multi-Cultural Fair. The President
reported that a lot was learned from the past year and the foundation for next year
has been developed. A lot of money was spent on advertising. $4000.00 was
available for use last year to use for the event. Next year committees will be formed.
* Used Book Sale was a huge success with net sales of $582.00. A thank you went
out to Mrs. Guidino and Mrs. Periera for all their hard work. Leftover books were
donated to various places and Traina Library took some as well.
* We need to discuss storage for TPC.
* A total of $427.00 was sold in spiritwear and $131.00 for the Halloween costumes.
* Order forms for the Embroidered Zip-up Sweatshirt were sent out and need to be
returned by October 30th.
New Business
*Mrs. Hernandez and Mrs. Murman’s classes won the pizza party for the most books
collected. Mrs. Guidino and Mrs. Periera would like to award the two classes that
were runner- ups in this contest with hot chocolate and doughnut parties.
* Mr. Salazar reported that renewals for E-scrip are due in November and a reminder
needs to go out to the parents.
* Mr. Salazar will call Raley’s to find out about their fund-raising know opportunities.
*Band Night is November 4th and the TPC will be supporting band by selling drinks
and snacks. The proceeds will be given to Mr. Cooper for his music program. Mr.
Cooper will also have Band shirts for sale.
* A discussion ensued about whether to sell coffee and doughnuts at the Parade on
Friday. It will depend on whether we can secure volunteers.
* The order forms for See’s Candy will go out the first week of November. The
orders will be due back after Thanksgiving break. A discussion about whether to sell
large or small boxes.
* Morgan Malsack suggested a Stockton Thunder Hockey Night. She will find out
about dates and let Mr. Salazar know about the dates.
*Raffle for Winter Program It was suggested that we should ask for donations from
Costco, Savemart, Raleys and Vin100. Maritza Martinez said she would donate a
basket worth $100.00 from her business Daisy’s Bags and Totes. She will receive all
donations and wrap them. Four basket will be needed.
*A discussion ensued about whether to sell Spiritwear before and after school.
*Next month the budget will be discussed.

September 30, 2009
The President called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Everyone was welcomed and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The President introduced Mr. Eaton, Superintendent of Jefferson School District.
Mr. Eaton said that he enjoyed the Multi-Cultural Event and was impressed with all
the parents and staff volunteering that day. He said that his focus this year with the
budget cuts was to protect the class sizes and staff employment. He reported that
the next board meeting will be held on October 13th. The school district is also
getting ready for the flu season. They are looking into turning the schools into flu
shot clinics. The other areas addressed included looking into the class test scores
from last year and finding ways to improve these scores. Mr. Eaton was asked to
give the Parents Club some background information on himself. He reported being a
teacher, Vice Principal, Principal and lastly Director of Student Services prior to
taking the position with Jefferson School District.
The secretary read the minutes and the minutes were approved.
The treasurer was not present to report but the President reported that the current
balance in the account is $5,760.00 which does not include the funds from the Multi-
Cultural Event.
School Update
*Mrs. Moffitt reported that the Principal’s lunch is on Friday.
*October 5 Mr. Salazar will attend the Staff meeting to report on the Multicultural
Event.

*October 13th Board Meeting and the funds for Site Council will be approved at that

Savemart- Mrs. Bosch reported that we should be receiving a check in October for
July, August and September.
E-Scrip- Mr. Salazar reported that we received $45.66 and so far this year $430.39
which is a large increase from last year.

New Business
*Multi-cultural event was held on Saturday and volunteer participation was
good.
The unofficial money count was over $9000.00 that we took in that day. This figure
does not account for monies that need to be paid out. Profit is estimated at
approximately $5000.00. Parents Club extends a big thank you to Mr. Eaton, Mrs.
Moffitt, Mr. Patzer and parents, student and teachers and everyone who
volunteered. Parents Club wants to thank Mr. Cooper who filled in for the DJ. The
Plans are to continue with the Multi-Cultural Event next year. Mrs. Moffitt reported
that the Multi-Cultural theme originated when Traina first opened and are continuing
now.
•Student agendas/planners were sold by TPC. A total of 257 were sold and 10 are
left over. Miss. Egleston’s class had 100% participation.
. Snackco was not sold because parents reported that the nuts were stale (sold for
Baseball this summer) TPC will re-evaluate Snackco as a possible fund-raiser later
in the year.
•Volunteer opportunities sign-up sheets were distributed at the meeting.
•Mrs. Guidino and Mrs. Periera are working on collecting books for the book sale.
They have collected 750 so far. The dates for the sale will be 10/14, 10/16, and
10/21 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm pending approval. Spiritwear will also be sold. A zip-up
embroidered sweatshirt will sell for $30 and can be personalized for $36.00. Small
youth t-shirt sales order forms will be sent out.
•Halloween Costume Sale will be 10/14 and 10/16 from 1:30 to 3:30. They may also
be sold before school in the Kindergarten parking lot.
•A Dandy Dog representative was at the meeting. He discussed a fund raising idea.
A fund raising night could be planned at Dandy Dogs and Dandy Dogs will give the

August 21, 2009
The President called the meeting to order at 8:31 AM. Everyone was welcomed.
The 2009-2010 TPC Board was announced.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read by the secretary.
The Treasurer reported the current financial report. Current balance in the account
is $1,052.50. At the Back to School night we netted $523.00.
School Update: Mrs. Moffitt and Mr. Patzer were not present.
Committee Updates:
Savemart- A check was received over the summer for $1,564.00 for April, May and
June sales. Savemart cards are available in the office for those who have not
received them yet.
E-Scrip- Mr. Salzar reported that there has been an increase in monies since last
year.
Sunshine- Nanci Bechere was not present to report.
Box-tops/Campbell soup labels- Kathy Moody reported that the school made $`1,
387.00 last year. She suggested that a goal be set that each student bring in 10 box-
tops. Campbell soup labels will continue to be collected.
Ink Cartridges- Last check was for $36.00
New business:
Open House was last night and it was a huge success.
Around the World At Traina (a multi-cultural fair) will be held on September 26, 2009
from 10AM-4PM. This event replaces the district carnival. A variety of activities,
events and foods will be offered including; bounce houses, slide, bungee run,
soccer, hula dancing, etc. Several donations of food have been procured as well as
vendors who will sell food. Volunteers are needed. The committee will meet every
Wednesday at 3:00 at school pending approval until the day of the event.
The Budget for TPC will be available at the next Parents Club meeting.
A schedule of this year’s fund-raising activities was discussed. Next week a
form for nuts and chocolate from a company called Snackco will be distributed to the
children to sell.
***Around the World at Traina event will be held Sept 26th 10- 4 pm
*** In October, gently used Halloween costumes will be sold.
*** In November, SEE’s candy will be sold.
***In January, a Family Movie night will be held. This time it will be geared more
towards the whole family.
***In February, Candy grams will be sold for Valentine’s Day.
***In March , Traina’s Got Talent Show. Meetings and rehearsals will be held in
January and February. A goal this year is to have teacher participation.
***In May, a second family night will be discussed.
Parents Club will be selling student planners for $3.00. The teacher will gather the
orders and money ant the Parents Club will order and distribute them.
The President announced the following Coordinator positions that are open:
Traina Spiritwear, New membership, and Fundraising.
Morgan volunteered to be the Fundraising Coordinator.
The next meeting that was scheduled on August 25,2009 was cancelled.
A discussion ensued in regards to TPC selling folders as well as agendas and other
items (crazy hair wigs, pencils, etc) The President will discuss this with Mrs. Moffitt.
Lori Linnebur will check into these items and report back to TPC.
A suggestion was made that we have family fun night that is free to the parents and
children. Mr. Salzar will look into this suggestion.
A suggestion was made that we alternate night and morning meetings. The
September meeting will be held at night. Date to be determined.

May 15, 2009
The President called the meeting to order at 8:36 AM. Everyone was welcomed.
The secretary read the minutes from the last meeting.
The treasurer reported on the finances. The current balance is $4,443.96. The Open
House profit was $504.00 and the Talent show profit was $866.96. Checks were received
from Boxtops for $564.00 and Savemart for $1394.00 and some change.
We should be able to close the books with $4000.00 and each grade should be able to
receive about $450.00.
SCHOOL UPDATE
Mrs. Moffitt and Mr. Patzer were not present.
COMMITTEES
E-scrip- Mr. Salazar reported that we made $56.19 for March which is 150% more than last
year at $22.00. We made $153.79 for the year which is 160% more than last year. The next
action to be taken would be to get families to renew and be in the parking lot at dismissal
time to talk with more parents.
Savemart- The check came in. Savemart cards will be given to new kindergarten parents

Box-tops and Campbell soup labels had a rootbeer float contest.
Winners: Box tops- K-3 Mrs. Bowles with 571 and 4-8 Mrs. Earl with 671. Soup labels:

NEW BUSINESS
Talent show was held on May 8th. The children were really good and everyone enjoyed
themselves.
Open House was held on May 7th. The TPC sold hot dogs, nachos, popcorn and
slushees.
The fundraiser to replace Carnival will be a multi-cultural event. We are going to call it
“Around the World at Traina”…see the world in your school yard.” Focus will be on food
and music. We will also have bounce houses and family oriented games, like the 3 legged
race, hula hoop contest. Volunteers are needed. The date is September 26, 2009 from 10-
4. Jefferson’s carnival is Oct. 3. Next meeting is next week on May 22, 2009 at 8:30 in the
cafeteria
Krystal Wilson will be in charge of activities.
Each grade level will pick a country. We are waiting to hear back from the teachers in
regards to their country.
A motion was made to allow the Parents club to be able to use the carnival money to put
down deposits for items that are needed for the event. Nanci Howard presented the
motion and Raul Salazar seconded the motion.
New positions were proposed to change the by-laws. A vote ensued and positions were
approved by the majority.

April 24.2009
President Nanci Howard called the meeting to order at 8:37 AM and everyone was welcomed.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The minutes were read by the secretary.
Treasurer Barb Leval reported that the current balance is $6,532.71 (not including Mr. Cooper’s
check $112.00. She reported that another $300.00 would go out. This report does not include
the Talent Show, Open House, Savemart or teacher’s luncheon. The box-tops check was not
included. The account will close with $4000.00. We made $168.00 on the A’s tickets and these
will continue to be on sale through May.
SCHOOL UPDATE
Mrs. Moffitt was present and reported on the school update.
She reported that the school was currently in STAR testing. The students will finish next week.
K-8 will be doing another test on the computer should have these results in the fall.
Principal’s Lunch for March is today (April 24, 2008)
Open House will be on May 7th.
The school is currently working on getting the students signed up for Science Camp An
informational meeting will be held in May at Open House from 6-6:30.
Graduation activities are being finished up.
The 6th graders will learn CPR.
Community members are needed for the ELAP program for the English Language Learners.
This group meets 3x per year. Let Zubaida know if you are interested.
Class budgets were cut from $500.00 to $200.00 Teachers appreciate the money that is received
from the Parents Club. The money will need to be designated to the area where it will be spent
for auditing purposes. Supplies/materials are the areas with the most need. Mrs. Moffitt
suggested that a questionnaire be sent out to teachers to determine what they prefer to spend
the money on. (Field trips, transportation,) Money should be given by grade level.
New superintendent is Dana Eaton from Brentwood Unified. He will start in July. Ed Quinn will
finish in September.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
E-Scrip- Raul Salazar reported that in Feb we got $55.04 which is 25% more than last year and
51% more since Jan 2009.

NEW BUSINESS
Talent Show is May 8th at 6:30. Doors will open at 5:00 and pizza and drinks will be sold. There
will also be a basket opportunity drawing. Mr. Salazar volunteered to make a Mexican basket.
Another talent show rehearsal will be on April 29th after school and dress rehearsal will be on
May 5th after school.
A representative from the California Snack Company in Manteca presented a fundraising option.
The company sells nuts and chocolates. They do not have shipping costs and they provide a 10-

It was suggested that the Multi-cultural fair be called “Traina Around the World” See the world
in your own schoolyard. Volunteers are needed in all areas. We will be able to use the carnival
supplies stored at Jefferson school. The District will be in charge of managing the supplies.
On Open House – May 7th. Popcorn, Hot Dogs, Nachos and Slushees will be sold. Tickets to
the Talent Show will also be sold. The prices are $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for students prior to
the show and $3.00 and $2.00 at the door.
Staff Appreciation week is 4th to the 8th of May.
Parents Club will provide lunch for the teachers on May 13th from 10:45 -1:30.
Nanci Howard suggested that we discuss some changes to the by-laws. Some other positions
are needed to distribute the workload.
Sue Bosch made a motion to have Nanci Howard be the Chair of the Multicultural Fair and Barb
Leval seconded the motion.
Voting for the position for next year’s candidates was done. A meeting will be held on Tuesday
April 29th at 7:00 pm and on-line voting will also be available.
The next meeting will be May 15th at 8:30 AM. Meeting adjourned at 9:40.

SCHOOL UPDATE:
Mrs. Moffitt and Mr. Patzer were present. Mrs. Moffit reported on the school update.
The 7th grade students went to Chinatown.
Science Fair - Student Joseph Cost’s project was selected for State in the Science Fair.
2/27/09 was Pioneer graduation for the third grade students.
Read Across America was in the newspaper. The district office judged the posters.
Fourth grade students took the writing portion of the Star testing.
Book Fair was held and a Family night.
First grade students went to a play at Delta College.
ACE Awards were held this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Accelerated Reader Awards were given out as well.
Principal’s lunch will be held for K-8 today.
JR. High students had Science Olympiad.
COMMITTEE Reports
E-Scrip- Raul Salazar reported that we had an earned $29.68 which was 20% lower than last year.
We have 108 people signed up. Raul Salazar reported that he has been in the parking lot talking
with parents about E-scrip.
Save mart- Sue Bosch reported that the order from the Apples for Students program was received
and processed and the order should be coming soon. An additional 250 SHARES cards were
ordered. The cards were processed and should come soon as well. The money to pay for these
cards will come out of the next check which will come in April 2009.
Sunshine - Brenda Bloom was not present to report.
Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels- Kathy Moody was present and reported that she submitted
over 5,000 box tops and that a check for $562.30 should come in April. The total for the year
earned will be $1,385.90 which is $400.00 more than last year. Another spring contest will be held
with a root beer float party as the prize. Cutoff will be 5/1/09.
Ink Cartridges- No news to report.
NEW Business
Movie Night is tonight. Over 150 people signed up for the event.
Talent Show will be in May. Thirty students have signed up for this event. Mr. Cooper will help with
the music.
The A’s fundraiser for the A’s baseball game was sent home. An order for $192.00 was turned in.
Traina Parents Club Day is April 25th and everyone is welcome to come join them.
Multicultural Fair- A discussion ensued in regards to replacing the carnival with this event which
would be held at Traina. The city stage would need to be reserved so a date needs to be
confirmed. Mrs. Moffitt invited the Parents Club to come to a staff meeting to talk with the teachers
about the event on April 8th at 3:15. Mrs. McCormick suggested that the event be called the
“Traina International Olympics”. A suggestion was made that each grade level should pick a
country. Other ideas included: how to charge for the event, getting businesses involved and
competing DJ’s. A meeting for the Multicultural Day event will be held on April 1st at 8:30.
Band Concert will be on April 9th with practice on April 8th. Parents Club will sell goodies and
proceeds will go to Mr. Cooper for music and supplies.
Open House is on May 7th and the Parent Club will sell food at this event and volunteers are
needed.
Treasurer reported that books must be closed out by June.
Elections for next meeting will include President and 2nd Vice President.
Next Meeting is April 24th at 8:15 AM.

Nanci Howard called the meeting to order at 8:30 am and everyone was welcomed.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Minutes were read by the secretary.
Treasurers report was read by Barb Leval. The Current balance in the account is $5825.51.
Fundraisers included Granny Ruth’s fudge raising $492.00 and Cupid grams raised $310.00.
Artist in residence was paid.
SCHOOL UPDATE:
Mr. Patzer gave the school report.
Mrs. McCormick and Mrs. Hernandez were in charge of Jump Rope for Heart. This fund-raiser
made $2,100.00. It was held inside the classrooms and hallways due to rain but it was a great
success. It was themed around making healthy choices.
8th grade students registered for High School. Those going to Kimball will be the first 4 year class
to attend that High School.
7th grade students are going to San Francisco to China town to see the Tea Garden.
March 2nd is kindergarten registration. Parents will be able to pick up their packets at that time.
Book Fair is March 2nd to March 6th.
Science Night is March 4th at 6:00 to 7:30.
8th grade students signed up for High School. Those going to Kimball will be the first 4 year class

Savemart- A check for $241.00 was received. This money was for December. The next check
will come in April for Jan,Feb, and March. A vote ensued as to whether we should purchase
more cards at $125.00 for 250 cards. All were in favor and more cards will be ordered.
Sunshine- Brenda Bloom was not presentl
Box Tops/Campbell’s soup labels- Kathy Moody was present to report. Suggestion was made to
give information to teachers to distribute instead of making 800 copies. Four classrooms won
parties 2 for box-tops and 2 for Campbell’s soup labels. Spring contest will end in May.
Ink Cartridges- Zubaida Pajarillo was not present.
NEW BUSINESS
Movie Night is March 20th Hot Dogs, Popcorn, and Nachos will be sold. Doors will open at 5:30
and Movie will start at 6:30.
Talent Show is May 8th. An informational meeting will be held on Feb. 25th at 3:30 and again on
March 4th.
Carnival Meeting- $11,000.00 is left in the account and it will be divided between the schools
based on population. Possibly in the future, the schools would re-join to have Carnival, then the
school might have to buy back in. The contents of the shed will be maintained for the use of all the
schools. They want to charge the schools $300.00 to maintain the shed.
Oakland A’s fundraiser- ends April 3rd. We get $2.00 off the price of the tickets and the A’s give
Traina back $8.00 for each ticket sold. 8 dates to pick from starting April 25th. Forms going out
next week and will be online.,

Scholarship for 8th graders is an essay contest and the winner will receive a Savings bond.

SCHOOL UPDATE
Mrs. Moffitt and Mr. Patzer were present. Mrs. Moffitt reported on the school update.
Progress reports went out on January 9th.
Kimball High representatives were here to discuss information for the eighth grade parents.
The High School Counselors will be here on Feb. 5th to give out registration packets to eighth
graders and will need to be returned on February 12th.
Jump Rope for Heart will be done on February 6th.
February 5th - DARE program will start.
A school dance was held last Friday and 8 0 students attended.
The 3rd grade students are participating in the Pioneer School program and will be going to the
Tracy Museum.
The 7th grade students have a field trip to Chinatown on February 25th.
The 4th grade students will be going to Columbia.
TREASURER REPORT
Barb Leval reported that the current balance is 8755.00 but we still need to pay Artist in
Residence. See budget report for more details.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Escrip and Savemart. Mr Salzar agreed to take over the E-scrip program. Currently there are 95
parents signed up to the program. No further news was reported.
Savemart- Apples for Students program. Current points were 207 but additional points should
bring us to 243 points. The booklet will be given to Mrs. Moffitt so that she can decide how to
spend the points. This program is over for this year and we will need to sign up again next year.
Shares Cards from Savemart were handed out at the Christmas programs. All 250 cards were
given out. The program gives the schools 3% back on purchases made. If we made at least
$50.00 then we should be receiving a check in about 2 to 3 weeks. Their website is not up to date
at this timel.

Box Tops- Kathy Moody reported that a check for 824.60 was received. This is the first of 2
check. The contest is divided by K-3 and 4-8. Discussion ensued about whether to decrease the
cost of the parties.
Ink Cartridges- Zubaida Pajarillo was not present. Nanci Howard reported that we got a $32.00
check.
NEW BUSINESS
Discussion ensued in regards to possible fundraisers since the district wide carnival will not be
held next year. Some suggestions made include:
Pizza night for families, Jamba juice (mug and coupon), Chevy’s restaurant (25% back), Target
program, multicultural fair, Dinner and dancing at a Winery and Parking cars at the Altamont race
track.
A fundraiser with the Oakland A’s will be started. We get $2.00 off each ticket and $8.00 back per
ticket.
Next carnival meeting is Feb 11th. Discussions on what to do with the leftover items from carnival
will be discussed.
Valentines Day- TPC sold Granny Ruth’s fudge. Cupid grams are also being sold. $135.00 has
been made to date. Sale continues until Feb 12th. Deliveries will be made on Feb 13th.
Movie night is March 2oth and Talent Show on May 8th.
It was determined that morning meetings work best.
Library will have their book fair March 2nd to March 6th. Volunteers are needed for this event.

TPC is working on questions to give to 8th grade students who want to apply for the TPC
scholarship.

President Nanci Howard called the meeting to order at 7:05 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was
recited and everyone welcomed.

Barb Leval, treasurer was not present. President Nanci Howard reported on the budget. Balance
was approximately $5900.00. Carnival check was over $6,000.00. TPC budget still needs to pay
for Artist in Residence and Science camp.
SCHOOL UPDATE
Mrs. Moffitt reported for the school update.
Band night was November 19, 2008. Mr. Cooper had his beginning, intermediate and advanced
bands play for the evening. He has a Jazz band and guitar. He may try to do this after school in th
future because it is getting hard to get kids out of class. Refreshments were sold for the Band
program. (Nanci Howard reported that TPC made $108.95 for the band program.)
Awards were today for 7th and 8th grade students. Awards will continue tomorrow 3rd and
Thursday 4th at 8:30 and 1:00.
Friday 5th- Principal’s lunch for November.
The Winter Program is the 17th and 18th of December
Mrs. Pereira had foot surgery and will be out until winter break is over.
COMMITTEES
E-scrip and Savemart
Sue Bosch was present. Sue reported that there are currently 93 people signed up for E-scrip.
Savemart Apples program- over $5000.00 in receipts were collected with TPC getting 1 point per
each $100.00. Savemart-Shares cards were shipped yesterday and should arrive at the end of
this week or beginning of next week. Parent Mr. Salzar suggested that E-scrip sign-ups and
Savemart cards be distributed at the Winter program. Mrs. Moffitt said that she will make an
announcement at the program as well as about the carnival.

Box Tops and Campbell’s soup labels- Kathy Moody was not present.

Discussion ensued about carnival for next year.
A suggestion was made about checking into other online fundraisers.

President Nanci Howard called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm. The Pledge was recited and
everyone welcomed.

Current balance- $6,546.96 Taxes were paid at $500.00 instead of the anticipated $1100.00.
Insurance paid was $175.00. TPC made $418.00 selling carnival t-shirts and $217.00 for the
Halloween costume sales. Ink cartridges made $15.00.
School Update
Mrs. Moffitt reported on the school updates.
Ballots for the site council will go out tomorrow and are due back on Monday at noon. Currently
there are 4 openings. School may look at amending the by-laws. Site council meeting on 29th at
3:15.
Principal from Kimball High was here to present the programs that would be offered at Kimball
High.
Mr. Patzer is teaching an EL class on Thursday nights from 7-8 pm in the computer lab.
A Principals lunch was held for those with tiger tickets.

Science Camp- School would like TPC to have a scholarship fund for students. School will cover
it this year. Cost is $260.00 per student.
Parent employed by PGE will check to see if PGE will donate to this.
Commmittee Reports
Escrip Program at Safeway and Savemart programs. Sue Bosch was present. The School is
signed up for E-scrip with Safeway. Thirty new parents signed up for E-scrip at the carnival.
Traina is also signed up for two programs at Savemart. One is the SHARES card. This card is
swiped each time the person shops at Savemart. Cards have not arrived yet. Mrs. Moffitt
suggested that we pass them out at the parent teacher conferences. She will also call the
parents and let them know about them. The second program is the APPLEs program. This
program involves parents saving their receipts and the school will get points depending on the
amount spend. $100 = 1 point. There is a catalog with items that the school can chose items to
purchase. This portion ends OCT 30th.

Soup labels and Box tops. Kathy Moody reported that 8,000 box tops were submitted. Campbell’
s soup has 10,608 points. Kathy asked if 8 parties for the year were too many.
Nanci Howard reported that she registered the school for the mycokerewards.com. The
numbers from the coke caps can be entered and the points donated to Traina. A catalog is
available to buy items.
New Business
Carnival - A meeting will be held on Thur. 23rd to see how much the District made at the
carnival.
T-shirts and Sweatshirt forms were sent out this week. 2 airbrush styles will be available. They
should be in before Thanksgiving.
See’s candy. Sales will start in November back before December
TPC will sell snacks at the Band Concert on November 19th. Proceeds will go to Mr. Cooper for
sheet music. We need volunteers for the snack table.
Assembly on November 20th – Musician
Winter program will be 2 nights and TPC will sell snacks.

Committees
Escrip for Safeway and Savemart program. Sue Bosch was present. Safeway currently has a
program in which parents can save receipts and the school gets points for the receipts. This
ends October 6th. Savemart has a similar program and more information will be given. The
school was signed up to receive cards from Savemart to give to parents for use when shopping
at Savemart. The program does not require any personal information from the parents. Parents
just need to use the card when shopping. The cards have not arrived. E-scrip booth will be set
up at the carnival.
Sunshine committee. Brenda Bloom was present. Sent card to Mrs. Sorenson. A card was sent
to Audra Lehay. A card was sent to Brenda Guidino for the printer.
Ink Cartridges. Zubaida Pajarillo just sent off a box of cartridges. Money not received yet. Cell
phones, video games etc. are accepted. Zubaida will send an e-mail out in regards to what is
exceptable for recycling.

Carnival Oct 5 th. Still have 51 Volunteer positions open. We need at least 25 more people.
The high school will be coming to help out. Jill Throckmorton will update the e-mail list.

Dennis Loomis Assembly scheduled for the 20th of October
Used Halloween Costumes will be sold on Oct. 17th 1:30 to 7:00 Donations of old costumes are
being collected now.
Laura Salzar and Gigi Olgney reported that Site council needs volunteers. Site Council receives
money for the school and this group of parents and teachers decide how the money should be
spent. Disaster packs were paid for by the site council in the past. Four more parents for the
site council are needed. Stop by the office to sign up.
Brenda Bloom reported that Walmart sponsors a recycling program for plastic bags. Brenda
Bloom will check on this program.
Raul Salzar asked about expanding the SEE’s fundraiser to be online. Krystal Wilson said that
she will check into this possibility.
Camping for Community Program was presented by a parent. She will get more information for
everyone to look at.
A parent suggested daycare at the carnival in order to get more volunteers. Brenda Bloom will
check into the possibility of daycare for volunteers.
